You can get a lot done. I'm getting some applique blocks from Folk Art Gathering all prepped for hand stitching. We'll see how long Larkin's nap lasts.

I was just working on a string block this week and thought the same thing. I decided its alright as long as I clean up at the end of the day. Have fun!
Sometimes messy is inspiring ! The other day I messed up the room by pulling out my so called ugly fabrics. I left them all over the place until inspiration came and I ended up with a cute wall quilt which I sorely needed . My walls are empty. Sometimes messy just bugs me LOL ..
I just noticed how big Larkin has grown in the short time living at your home. I see that you comments are mentioning the same thing.
I was thinking just today that I needed to pull out the Folk Art patterns and work on some of the blocks.
Larkin is for sure growing, shhhh cut, sew very quiet... LOL those puppy naps get shorter and shorter and then you have the teenager doggy stage :O).

Whenever my quilting is really rolling well, well--my room is messy as heck, too!! Your doggie is so sweet; my daughter just adopted a 6-mo. old yellow lab and as soon as this battle with the aftermath of "Sandy" is over--I get to go and meet her. Julierose
What I'm really eyeing is the old suitcase in the corner of the bay window. I use 4 of them in my booth to display wool and have 3 in my living room stacked for an end table and another 2 that I haven't used yet. Never enough vintage suitcases! But Larkin is cute sleeping, too.....
