It's Friday! Let's take a look back at the week in quilting. Down to the basement on Monday I went to pin this top onto the quilt frame.

Not a stitch has been taken, but at least it's pinned on.
This top has been waiting (patiently) for a long time to become a quilt.
Back upstairs to the tree house, I started piecing some blocks.

These are 3" churn dashes - I'm going to need A LOT of them. I'm making a quilt that I saw in an old Fons and Porter magazine. I believe the pattern was called 3, 6, 9, 12 - for the size of the blocks that are used. I say this because I have not yet located the pattern after the move. It's here . . . . somewhere.
Since I plan to just use whatever fabrics I have on hand, I don't need any help with yardages to get started. In the event that I don't find my pattern, I've drawn myself a little guide on graph paper to help with figuring out number of blocks needed and placement.
I've just been cutting for one pair of blocks at a time. While this gives me the satisfaction of getting to the machine to sew right away, I've decided that I need to make better use of my cutting time as well. So I'm going to start cutting triangles, too for something akin to a 1000's of Pyramids quilt.
Why am I so concerned with making the best use of my quilting time?

Because I spend a lot of my day keeping Daisy occupied. She's a lot less of a puppy and more of a Jr. dog these days. The house training is going well. We've developed a bit of a schedule. A lot less time going outside 'just-in-case.'
Still, it takes a lot of play time to get her tired enough for a good nap. We romp, we practice our commands, we take walks, we throw the ball and when I'm worn out (and she's not) I blow bubbles in the yard for her to chase and *pop*
She may be relentlessly active, but she's funny and oh so soft. I think it's a fair trade-off.
